I just realized that it was September! Okay so maybe I didn't just realize it, but I think it's because Labor Day seemed to come early this year that I lost track of time Really that's a bad excuse too because Labor Day is always the first Monday in the month of September, but suffice it to say that I lost track of time.
Nicholas had his birthday party at the Kohl Children's Museum the last Saturday in August and between making party favor boxes, mailing out thank you cards, arguing with the bakery on the terrible job they did with Nicholas' cake, and making final plans with the people at the museum it's been really crazy.
I'm already planning Alexander's birthday party which isn't until December, but after the craziness of Nicholas' party I'm thinking I need to get this stuff done early. This time, it's going to be crazier because of the Christmas/Winter holidays. Things book up quickly and I really need to figure out when and where to have Alexander's 1st birthday party. I already started planning the cake and the favor boxes - crazy!
On top of all that, I've got a job to hold down (more news on that later); boys to help raise; and at least 5 5K runs to do between now and the end of the year. The only thing that would suck up more of my time is to be pregnant - and I'M NOT!!!! It's funny because David and I have been talking about a 3rd child and then something happens like Nicholas throws a tantrum and we rethink everything.
So the job thing? I left my corporate job - the one with the great title and no travel - because we thought that we would be moving out of the Chicagoland area. Actually, we knew that we were going to move. Turns out that we don't have to move and that David can do his job from Chicago. But, because the threat of moving was certain I quit my job - the one with the great title and no travel - in anticipation of moving. I'm now back at my old consulting firm sitting on the bench waiting to be placed. I know that I talked about going back to the old job, but I didn't elaborate on it. It's funny - the more things change, the more they seem to stay the same.
