For whatever reason, this past holiday season came and just *pfft* went on me. I know that I've said that before. But, when I was driving home from work today I realized it was snowing and the next song on my iPod was "All I Want For Christmas is You" which was a little strange.
But, when I got home and checked e-mail I got an e-mail from one of my favorite running store telling me that Spring was just around the corner. Is it just me or are we rushing through seasons and holidays a little too quickly these days? I'm sure that idea has been voiced before and maybe it's because I'm getting older, but it does feel like we barely get past one holiday and the next one is being advertised.
What is WITH that!?! What's the rush? I wonder sometimes if it will get to the point where one holiday eclipses another - like one runner passing another on a track. Is it entirely possible that one day Christmas will come in October before Thanksgiving?
